I read this article on Voice of America called "How an Allowance Helps Children Learn About Money"

Sourc
: http://learningenglish.voanews.com/content/how-allowance-helps-children-learn-about-money/1552053.html

Reflection:

Do you know American educational policy which children learn how to use money? I was very surprised. I thought that an education of America is higher quality than Japan.

Japan and America are basically different from education purposes of children. I think that the goal of Japanese education is to enter a good school or university. A long time ago, to graduate from a school having high deviation could enter big-name company. I studied English from 13 to 21 years old nevertheless I did not speak English. The teachers of the junior high school or high school were persons who cannot speak English. How can they teach English?

On the other side, the goal of American education is to have immediate fighting strength. In Other words, American adults expect that children who graduated from a school become useful people in society. For example, they have a class of a presentation since they were little. They always have their opinion irrespective of age. My cousins live in Hawaii, so they took classes in America. I opened my eyes in wonder when I heard my cousin’s homework and course contents. This is because I felt that quality of the education in America was better than Japan.

Have you learned how to use money when your parents give you allowance? I have not thought about it, and I have wasted. Which education do you want to let children receive if you have your children.

2. http://learningenglish.voanews.com/content/are-smartphone-apps-encouraging-young-smokers/1537479.html

Reflection:
I was surprised by smoking rate in Russia. The smoker rate is second in the world, and hundreds of thousands of Russians die every year from diseases linked to smoking. Did you know the case?  When I read this article, I have a question. Why Russa has a lot of smokers?  Russia was negative against dealing with the high smoking rate all the time until now because lack of cigarettes caused in the 1990s. Then I think that application of iPhone might lead to increase in promotion of the smokers. A plan to raise the commodity tax of the cigarette to nearly 135% by 2015 seemed to be voted for in Russia. In addition, I think that it is suggested whether a riot does not happen. I am a smoker, so I am against the price of the cigarette rising from the situation of the smoker. Of course I know smoking has a harmful effect on the health, but can not quite it. If each country regards smoking as a problem, I think that you should have got rid of the existence of the cigarette still more. Anyone will say nothing if it don't exist. What do you think about it?

I read this article on Time Tech called
Hokkaido hit with 7% power-cut winter goal

Source: Here is the link to the article
http://www.japantimes.co.jp/text/nb20121103a2.html

Reflection:
I wanted to share this news because influence of the Fukushima Nuclear Power Plant still continues in Japan.

In the Hokkaido Electric Power jurisdiction where the supply and demand gets into full swing in winter, the issue of vital supply and demand of inhabitants worsens. One and a half years has passed from Tokyo Electric Fukushima nuclear plant accident. Meanwhile, the Japanese Government cannot solve the issue of no electricity.I cannot trust the government because they do not keep security of the life of the people at all.

The Governor Harumi Takahashi of Hokkaido said, "the winter power saving in the way was right a problem of the life". And he demanded the early development of the supply and demand prospect from Minister of Economy Trade and Industry Yukio Edano on October 12. There is not yet the answer from the government.

The heating apparatus ingredient using the recent oil and gas uses the electricity. There are many things which do not operate without electricity. Therefore the sense of impending crisis of local people will be strong.Japanese government gives priority to ensuring safety, and it is unavoidable that  Japanese government becomes careful about re-operation of the nuclear power generation. But they leave the securing of power supply to the electric power company in the electric power company. I feel that it is too irresponsible.
